This year Hope Community Garden is supporting 50 gardeners and their families which would not be possible without the support of our amazing donors! The Dale and Adele Young Teaching Greenhouse contributed nearly 200 plant starts for our garden kick-off today. The Home Depot and IFA Country Store donated seeds, and many of our gardeners were able to obtain some free seeds from the Cache Community Food Pantry.
While we often think of gardening as a low-cost method to provide access to fresh produce, new gardeners may face significant start-up costs that become prohibitive financial barriers. From purchasing garden tools, to plants and pest control, gardening can quickly become expensive. For individuals struggling with food and financial insecurity, providing space to grow may not be sufficient support to ensure their gardening success. Our donors' contributions help to cover start-up costs for those in need and keep our garden COST-FREE!
