Hope Community Garden was recently awarded a Social Determinants of Health grant through the Bear River Health Department and we are using the extra funds to make some improvements around the garden! You will soon start to see some construction on the west side of the blue garden shed because that is where we will be installing our new greenhouse.
We currently anticipate that our greenhouse build will take place in three phases:
September 24th, 2024, 8am-12pm - We will construct and anchor the wood frame of the greenhouse foundation.
September 25th, 2024, 8am-12pm - We will fill the foundation with pea gravel.
October 26th, 2024, 11am-3pm - We will install our greenhouse kit.
Please join us for any/all of these greenhouse workdays!
We are looking forward to extending our growing season with this new indoor growing space. Please let us know if you would like space in the greenhouse to cultivate plants over the winter (we aren't sure if this will be possible or not because the greenhouse will not be heated) or would like to grow some of your own plant starts before the official start of the season next spring!
